Are Love And Compassion Equal For Women?

The dictionaries and reference books provide the different explanations for the words “love” and “sympathy”.But still the most of women make these notions equal in practice. Many modern girls have the boyfriends who are weak and delicate, but they love them more than the courageous and powerful men. Women feel both love and compassion towards losers, nerds and unappreciated geniuses. Actually they really love these fragile men though it seems to contradict the law of evolution.

Some psychologists suppose that this compassionate love is the manifestation of the maternal instinct. The modern women tend to mix up their husbands and their children. In that way they coddle and treat their husbands as they were their children.

It is a wide-known fact that suffering men attract women no matter if these sufferings are emotional or physical ones.

The ancient Egyptian governess Cleopatra allowed the men to spend a night with her only if they would be beheaded the next day. In that case Cleopatra was capable to fall for passion.

The chronicles of the twelfth century say that the noble ladies used to go mad and tear the blooded shirt of the injures knight during the tournament.

The Spanish writer of the sixteenth century Luis Velez de Guevara states that the men brought their wives to watch the public punishment not by chance. They were aware of what they did as the compassion of women made the last become more affectionate towards their spouses later.

Both heroes and cowards actually have the equal chance to be loved and praised by women. If we return to the evolution theory we will easily see that the coward will gain the woman’s attention with his great instincts of self-preservation and the ability to avoid danger. Heroes will be appreciated for their courage to take any risk.

However the scar across the cheek still looks more attractive than running nose.
